I am accepting clients
If you’re looking for a therapist, I imagine part of you believes something has the potential to be different. I don’t know what you’re experiencing that has led you to seek help, but the voice that called you to seeking speaks to me of inner wisdom. What I’m here to offer is space & safety for that inner wisdom to come forth. I’m here to offer curiosity around what’s in the way between the life you’d like to live & the life you’re living now. I’m here to offer not just practical and pragmatic approaches to change, but lived experience that change is possible. I’m here to tell you things can be different, & that change often involves us first accepting ourselves as we are.
I hold each of us as holistic beings, organisms coming from untold generations of survival, bodies that have found vital & creative ways to adapt & survive the environments of our pasts. My orientation looks at our current understanding around trauma’s impact on the nervous system & gestalt psychotherapy, which is rooted in developing & championing awareness through experimentation & parts work. I see working somatically, through the body's wisdom, as essential to connecting to ourselves, after we've developed the inner resourcing & trust to access these parts of ourselves safely.
I have a MA in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies, and a BA in English with a minor in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Among other things, I'm interested in language, humor (lol), and I enjoy singing and playing the guitar badly.
